"Island Warriors - Latin Fury 12" on October 10th
Pay-Per-View debut for "El Ciclon" Gamboa
Now it's official: Yuriorkis Gamboa will join WBO super bantamweight champion Juan Manuel Lopez for the doubleheader of "Island Warriors - Latin Fury 12" live at the Madison Square Garden and on Pay-Per-View on October 10th. It will be Gamboa's first appearance in the legendary "Mecca of boxing" as well as his first fight on Pay-Per-View. "Island Warriors" will be co-promoted by ARENA Box-Promotion and Top Rank in association with PR Best Boxing.
"This is a great honour for me", says "El Ciclon". "I have turned professional two years ago. I am world champion already; now I get the chance to fight at the world famous Madison Suqare Garden. Every inch of this arena breathes boxing history. I am very proud that I made it this far in such a short time and I want to thank my promoter Ahmet Oener and my management team for bringing me to the venue where every boxer wants to fight once in his life."
Besides Gamboa Puerto Rican power-puncher Juan Manuel Lopez and Gamboa's fellow Cuban Olympic gold medallist Odlanier Solis will be featured at "Latin Fury 12" on October 10th.
